Welcome to Project SOS! This past school year we had the opportunity to impact the lives of 14,316 local students in local middle schools and high schools by helping them have the skills to reach their goals while avoiding teen pregnancy, unhealthy relationships, bullying, drugs, alcohol, suicide and violence.
Our programs are not only in North Florida and South Georgia, but have been replicated in 13 cities throughout Russia, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and in Uganda. Our long term goal is to establish Project SOS offices in five additional cities in Florida and eventually five more throughout the nation so we can shape the lives of one million youth and parents annually.
Not only does Project SOS help our youth, but we also know that strong families are the key to healthy communities. We are building healthy relationships with individuals and couples by teaching them communication skills, parenting skills, debt management and conflict resolution techniques. In addition, enrolled clients are offered job readiness skills, pre-marital counseling, mentoring and life coaching. All classes are free to those who qualify. Funding is provided by a federal grant from the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Family Assistance, Grant #90FM0033.
“Taking It To The State”: Project SOS programs have positively impacted the lives of many thousands of young people and families in Jacksonville Florida for the past 20 years. With your help we will soon be able to offer these programs to tens of thousands more young people and families in all the major cities across the entire state of Florida.
